For July 2022, I've continued to create multimedia, storybook-like art that highlights my pencil sketching technique.

Postcards From July showcases my love and respect for nature and feature three specific animal friends I feel a special connection to, moose, orca, and wolf.

About Orca: on a trip to Port Townsend Washington, my partner and I initially made the trek up to visit some of our best friends and witness a very rare bioluminescent bloom in the chilly coastal waters of the Pacific Northwest. The following morning after sleeping a peaceful night of camping, we headed into town on a mission to caffeinate with a strong cup of hot coffee. Sitting on the shoreline catching up with our friends something caught my eye, and sure enough in amazement, we all realized we were witnessing a family of orcas named the J pod passing through Port Townsend waters, not but 50 feet from where we stood in the sand! This was my first time seeing orcas, and something in me sparked to life with the experience, not too dissimilar to the weightless feeling I had the first time I swam in the salty ocean.
